Attorney Anita Paka primarily practices in Wills and Estates law in Virginia. Anita started her legal career working as a paralegal and law clerk in Virginia, and Washington, DC where she gained insight into the inner workings of the legal system. Subsequently she started her solo practice where she practiced primarily in Estate planning.
As a mother of two, Anita understands firsthand the desire of parents to build a secure future for their loved ones. She can customize estate plans and trusts to accommodate special needs, desire, or contingency, including (but not limited to):
- Special Needs Trust (providing for a family member with disabilities or other medical needs)
- Asset protection (e.g., shielding assets from creditors, so heirs don’t see their inheritance drained)
- Charitable Trusts (supporting chosen charities and ensuring continued financial decisions according to client’s values)
- Pet Trusts (making sure beloved pets are cared for after the client passes on)
- Disability Trust (making sure the long-term care and medical needs of the beneficiary are met)
In addition to basic wills and trusts, Anita also helps families and business owners with incapacity planning, legacy, and business succession planning, funding, and other specialty planning services. Anita provides regular reviews of her clients’ estate plans to ensure they are still properly configured to meet their goals. Despite her busy work schedule, Anita finds time to volunteer with Legal Services of Northern Virginia to assist low-income seniors and disabled persons with Wills, Powers of Attorney and Advance Medical Directives. Aside from law, Anita’s enjoys travel, hiking, cooking, and art.
